Hiking and Climbing
The Sangre de Cristo mountains offer miles of alpine hiking trails both easy and difficult. You have access to ten peaks over 14,000' high and more than two dozen over 13,000'. The trailheads are less than 15 minutes from your door.
There are numerous local choices to catch browns and rainbows including the high mountain lakes, the Arkansas River, Lake DeWeese in Westcliffe and Lake San Isabel in the Wet Mountains.
Options for riding are many. Choose from an indoor arena offering lessons by the hour, half-day trips on a 3,000 acre working ranch or multi-day, guided pack trips into the Sangre de Cristos mountains.
From scenic float trips for families to heart stopping Class 5 rapids, the Arkansas River offers some of the best white water rafting in the United States. Just 45 minutes away.
There are a number of excellent dining options all within 15 minutes.

Town of Westcliffe
Westcliffe is quaint mountain town with a true western feel. The town offers shopping, casual restraunts, bowling, a movie theatre and art galleries. Don't miss Western Days and the Blue Grass Festival. Westcliffe is 10 minutes from Sangre Getaway.
